Director, Strategy, Evaluation and Learning

The Director of Strategy, Evaluation and Learning (SEL) at IDRC leads a division focused on strategic planning, foresight analysis, knowledge translation, and the monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) framework. The role promotes a culture of strategic insight, evaluative thinking, and organizational learning, enhancing IDRC’s effectiveness and reputation.

As a member of the Management Committee, the Director may act as Vice-President when needed and serves as a thought leader in strategy and MEL. The role involves cross-branch collaboration with internal teams and regional offices, and coordination with the Policy and Communications Division for strategic alignment. The Director manages a budget of approximately CAD $1 million in programming allocations and an operating budget of approximately CAD $1.4 million, with a staff of 13.
